Yu Ukai

Yu Ukai is a product leader at the intersection of technology, strategy, and human experience. Based in Tokyo as a Senior Product Manager at Google, he has led global initiatives in Travel and Local Search, shaping how millions of people discover and experience places around the world.

Over more than eight years at global technology companies such as Google and Microsoft, he has worked with teams in Silicon Valley, Seattle, and across Asia. Through that experience, he has seen how leading tech companies use thoughtfully designed offsites and intentional time together to drive alignment, innovation, and culture.

Yuukai Planning & Design was founded to bring that level of ambition and intentionality to Japanese leadership teams. The goal is to design offsites, strategy meetings, and executive retreats for Japanese clients that feel closer to a top-tier Silicon Valley or global tech company experience than to a conventional company trip.

Yuukai Planning & Design acts solely as an event planning and consulting firm. We are not a registered travel agency under Japanese Travel Agency Law. We do not sell travel packages, issue airline tickets, or handle hotel bookings directly as a principal. All travel-related bookings (transportation and accommodation) are finalized directly by the client or through licensed partner travel agencies. Our role is strictly limited to planning, consulting, and on-site coordination.
